CFTC Follows SEC In Adopting Adviser Reporting Rule

Law360, New York (October 31, 2011, 10:21 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission approved a final rule Monday that will require advisers to funds that are registered with the CFTC and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to report information for use in monitoring risks to the U.S. financial system.

The joint rule, which the SEC approved Oct. 26, will require certain advisers to report the information to the SEC for use by the Financial Stability Oversight Council, according to a press release. It is set to go into effect next year....
