Stem Cell Patent Dispute Stayed Until PTO Ruling

Law360 (June 28, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Biotechnology company StemCells Inc. has agreed to halt a patent suit brought against rival Neuralstem Inc. while the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office reevaluates the four patents-in-suit, the company said Thursday.

StemCells filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland in July 2006, alleging that Neuralstem’s stem cell products, drug screening and discovery services infringe on its patents relating to neural stem cells.
