NRDC Settles Groundwater Contamination Suit

Law360, New York (November 1, 2011, 3:24 PM EDT) -- The Natural Resources Defense Council on Monday asked a Tennessee federal judge to allow three corporate defendants to exit a suit that also targets a Tennessee city and county over groundwater contamination stemming from a landfill, saying they had reached a settlement.

NRDC and two homeowners living near the Dickson, Tenn., landfill brought the suit to force Dickson, Dickson County, ALP Lighting and Ceiling Products Inc., Nemak USA Inc., and Interstate Packaging Co. to clean up trichloroethylene and perchloroethylene contamination.
