Ex-Anglo Irish Finance Director Arrested In Fraud Probe

Law360, New York (November 1, 2011, 2:04 PM EDT) -- Irish police on Tuesday reportedly arrested the former finance director of Anglo Irish Bank, William McAteer, as part of an ongoing investigation into fraud at the now nationalized bank.

McAteer, 60, was arrested for the second time as part of a long-running investigation into the lender's collapse, The Irish Times reported.

The former finance director, who also served as the bank's chief risk officer, resigned from his post at Anglo Irish in January 2009, shortly before the Irish government nationalized the lender and bailed it out...
