Jailed Scrushy Wants Out Pending Appeal

Law360 (June 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Former HealthSouth Corp. CEO Richard Scrushy, who was sentenced Thursday to six years and ten months' jail for bribing one-time Alabama governor Don Siegelman, has asked to be released pending an appeal.

Attorneys for Scrushy filed a motion immediately after his sentence was handed down in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, asking that he be freed on bond to appeal both his conviction and sentence.
