Neb. Lawmakers To Consider 5 Oil Sands Pipeline Bills

Law360, New York (November 4, 2011, 4:15 PM EDT) -- In an ongoing special session convened Tuesday, Nebraska legislators introduced five bills they said they hoped could move TransCanada Corp.'s proposed $7 billion oil sands pipeline away from the state's major underground water source.

The bill introduction period is now closed, and public hearings are scheduled to begin Monday. Lawmakers said they expected the special session to last at least two weeks but wanted to pass legislation before the pipeline is approved or rejected by the U.S. State Department at the end of the year....
