Gap Accuses TheGap.Com Of Cybersquatting

Law360, New York (November 4, 2011, 3:13 PM EDT) -- The Gap Inc. on Thursday accused a concealed Indian entity of registering as a domain name in order to deceive visitors into believing the website is affiliated with the clothing company.

In a suit filed in Virginia federal court, Gap claims that a Mumbai, India-based company identifying itself as The Gap Entertainment is violating the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act by using the Gap name to draw visitors to, where they are then redirected to a series of spam sites.
