ITC To Review Ink Cartridge Ruling

Law360, New York (July 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has decided to reexamine a ruling that 24 companies violated Seiko Epson Corp. patents for ink cartridges, marking the first time the agency will review patent validity issues in relation to a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision.

The ITC decided Friday to review an administrative law judge's ruling that the companies, which make ink cartridges that are compatible with Seiko Epson printers, infringed several patents and should be banned from importing the cartridges into the U.S.
