Vt. Enviro Agency Cops To Breaking Waste Disposal Laws

Law360, New York (November 10, 2011, 11:23 AM EST) -- The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation will pay $115,000 to settle claims that it violated state hazardous waste disposal laws at its laboratory, the state attorney general announced Wednesday.

The DEC admitted to 24 violations of hazardous waste laws at its lab, according to documents filed in Vermont Superior Court. The violations included hazardous materials being stored at the lab longer than the 90-day limit, and in some cases for years.
