Abramoff Schemer Asks DC Circ. To Grant Plea Deal Change

Law360, Washington (November 14, 2011, 12:51 PM EST) -- Michael Scanlon, a key player in the Jack Abramoff lobbying fraud conspiracy, on Monday asked the D.C. Circuit to have a lower court modify his $20 million plea agreement to reflect the U.S. Supreme Court's Skilling ruling.

Scanlon was sentenced in February to 20 months in prison and about $20 million in restitution after pleading guilty to honest services fraud, mail and wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit bribery for helping Abramoff defraud American Indians who hired the men to lobby for their casino interests in...
