Canada Proceeds With Jordan, Panama Free Trade Deals

Law360, Los Angeles (November 15, 2011, 4:04 PM EST) -- Canada's government on Tuesday introduced legislation to implement free trade agreements with Jordan and Panama, a move that officials hope will bolster the economy and spur job growth.

“Strengthening the financial security of Canadians, creating new jobs and promoting economic growth through deepened trade are my top priorities,” Ed Fast, minister of international trade, said in a statement. “Free trade agreements with Jordan and Panama are a key part of our government’s job-creating, pro-trade plan to protect and increase the prosperity of hard-working Canadians."
