Law360, New York (July 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In the wake of a spate of food safety scares in recent months, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday it has signed an agreement with the European Food Safety Authority that will see the two agencies increasingly sharing confidential scientific information about assessing food safety risks.
The formal agreement is designed to facilitate the sharing of confidential scientific and other information between the agencies, such as methodologies to ensure that food is safe, the FDA said.
