EU Approves €43.7B Endesa Deal

Law360, New York (July 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has given a nod of approval to the €43.7 billion proposed takeover of Spanish energy company Endesa SA by Italy's Enel SpA and Spain's Acciona SA.

The Commission said on Thursday that “the proposed transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area or any substantial part of it.”
