USTR Removes Taiwan From IPR Blacklist

Law360, New York (January 19, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Trade Representative has removed Taiwan from its "Special 301 priority watch list" in recognition of the country’s progress in intellectual property rights protection.

The USTR announced the removal of Taiwan from the list in its out-of-cycle Special 301 report Tuesday. Taiwan had been on the "priority watch list" for four consecutive years dating back to 2001.

USTR Robert Zoellick said that Taiwan's efforts in cracking down on commercial piracy and counterfeit products over the past year have been commendable.
