PE-Backed Malaysian Fund Eyes Clean Energy In Asia

Law360, New York (November 17, 2011, 5:01 PM EST) -- The investment arm of Malaysia's biggest bank and a Singapore-based private equity mogul are teaming up to launch a $500 million fund that will target renewable energy companies in Asia, the bank announced Thursday.

The 10-year fund is a joint venture of Mayban Ventures Sdn Bhd and Mumtaz Khan, CEO of Middle East and Asia Capital Partners Pte. Ltd., and will invest in clean energy and infrastructure throughout the Asia-Pacific region, the companies said.
