Smucker’s Peanut Butter Yanked For Possible Salmonella

Law360, New York (November 17, 2011, 8:40 PM EST) -- The J.M. Smucker Co. announced a limited voluntary recall of certain Smucker's chunky natural peanut butter products on Wednesday because of fears of possible contamination by a salmonella bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections.

The peanut butter in question has a best-if-used by date of either Aug. 3 or Aug. 4, 2012. The products would have been purchased between Nov. 8 and Thursday. Smooth peanut butter products are not affected by the recall, according to the company.
