Export Council Says Single IT System Will Boost Clarity

Law360, New York (November 17, 2011, 10:36 PM EST) -- The President's Export Council recommended Wednesday that the Obama administration establish a single information technology system and "trusted export program" as part of efforts to strengthen, clarify and modernize its export control regime.

In a letter to the president, the council laid out suggestions for his administration's export control reform initiative that it believes will help create "an improved regulatory network that will enhance and advance U.S. national security interests while also ensuring a level playing field for U.S. industry."
