Canadian Agency Accuses 6 Cos. Of Sewer Services Cartel

Law360, New York (November 22, 2011, 4:58 PM EST) -- Canada's competition regulator has charged six companies and five people with rigging bids for municipal and provincial sewer services contracts in the greater Montreal area, the agency announced Tuesday.

One of the targeted companies, MSC Rehabilitation Inc., pled guilty in the Quebec Superior Court for its role in the bid-rigging scheme, which involved 12 calls for bids from different municipalities, and will pay a CA$75,000 ($72,317) fine, according to the Canadian Competition Bureau.
