Financial Crusader Barney Frank Won't Seek Re-Election

Law360, New York (November 28, 2011, 9:07 PM EST) -- With the decision of Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., not to seek re-election to Congress in 2012, critics of the outspoken financial reformer may be cheering, but his retirement will do little to blunt the impact of the sweeping Dodd-Frank law, experts say.

On Monday, Frank, a namesake sponsor of the the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, said he would retire after his present term rather than have an involved re-election campaign in his reconfigured congressional district.
