DOI Prepares To Issue New Citations For Deepwater Spill

Law360, New York (November 28, 2011, 9:52 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior is preparing to issue new citations tied to the April 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster involving BP PLC, Transocean Ltd. and Halliburton Co., a spokesman for Halliburton confirmed Monday.

The DOI's Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement is preparing the notices for alleged environmental and safety offshore violations, according to Halliburton, which BP contracted to cement the Macondo well that was part of the rig that exploded and led to a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
