John Edwards Asks US To Clarify Charges Against Him

Law360, New York (November 28, 2011, 10:00 PM EST) -- Former presidential candidate and U.S. Sen. John Edwards asked the government on Monday to provide a bill of particulars to clarify its indictment accusing him of siphoning funds from some $1 million in allegedly unlawful campaign donations to mask an affair.

In a memorandum filed in North Carolina federal court, Edwards stated that the government's omissions, including a failure to identify certain alleged co-conspirators and a failure to specify his alleged conduct that caused the submission of false campaign finance reports, contributed to the “ambiguous pleading”...
