GOP Highlights Jobs In Push For Oil Sands Pipeline

Law360, New York (December 2, 2011, 4:05 PM EST) -- House Republicans attempted to rally support Friday for a proposed bill that would force the U.S. Department of State to expedite a permit for TransCanada Corp.'s oil sands pipeline, inviting a TransCanada executive and union officials to testify about the pipeline's job creation potential.

An Energy and Commerce Committee panel held a hearing Friday to talk about the temporary construction jobs that would be created by building the Keystone XL pipeline, which TransCanada estimates at some 20,000.
