Nokia Settles Lawsuit Vs. Vitelcom Over GSM, GPRS Patents

Law360 (January 24, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Nokia has settled a patent dispute with Spanish rival Vitelcom over GSM and GPRS technologies, the Finnish handset maker said Monday.

“The companies have entered into a royalty bearing patent license agreement covering certain Nokia patents relating to the GSM/GPRS Mobile Communication Standard and the grant of a cross license to Nokia under Vitelcom patents in the same field,” Nokia said.

Financial terms of the settlement agreement were not revealed.
