House Oversight Chair Probes Auto CEOs Over Fuel Rules

Law360, New York (November 29, 2011, 3:37 PM EST) -- The chair of the U.S. House of Representatives' Oversight and Government Reform Committee asked the CEOs of 15 major automakers Monday to provide details on negotiations with the Obama administration that resulted in proposed rules to double fuel efficiency by 2025.

In an 11-page letter, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., asked the CEOs of Ford Motor Co. and other automobile manufacturers detailed questions on their roles in negotiations with the Obama administration and requested documents tied to those talks.
