Mortgage Lenders' Creditors Push For Discovery

Law360, New York (July 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Unsecured creditors of Mortgage Lenders Network USA Inc. have lashed out at a bid by the bankrupt company's primary prepetition lender to suspend discovery in the case, arguing that the request may be an attempt to frustrate an ongoing investigation of the relationship between Mortgage Lenders and an offshore affiliate.

The official committee of unsecured creditors said in court documents filed Thursday that it objected to the motion of Residential Funding Co. LLC, Mortgage Lenders' primary prepetition warehouse lender, for a protective order suspending discovery....
