Ex-Olympus CEO Quits Board, Wants New Management

Law360, New York (November 30, 2011, 11:25 PM EST) -- Former Olympus Corp. CEO Michael Woodford, who blew the whistle in a merger fee scandal now under criminal investigation, on Wednesday reportedly resigned from the Japanese camera and medical device maker's board of directors and called for a shareholder meeting.

Woodford told The Wall Street Journal that his position as a director in the company was impeding his ability to talk with people pushing for change at the company. He plans to press Olympus to call a shareholder meeting as soon as February and then propose...
