CFTC Moves Ahead On Exemptions From Dodd-Frank

Law360, New York (December 2, 2011, 7:17 PM EST) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission said in a proposed interpretation released Friday that it would adopt a functional approach to determining whether retail commodity transactions are exempt from its anti-fraud oversight under the Wall Street reform law.

The proposed interpretation addresses the application of the "actual delivery" exception to the authority conferred on the agency to regulate retail commodity transactions under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act
