U.K. Gas Law Struck Down After E.On Appeal

Law360, New York (July 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.K. Competition Commission has struck down a new set of rules governing the country's gas market, after German energy giant E.On AG filed an appeal protesting the changes.

The Commission said Tuesday that Britain's Gas and Electricity Markets Authority had not adequately demonstrated that the set of revised rules would be beneficial to customers or the industry. The regulator also said that GEMA had erred in several calculations used to justify the implementation of the new policy.
