U.S. Oil Sued For Contaminating Wisconsin's Air

Law360, New York (July 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Facing claims it violated state air pollution control laws, U.S. Oil Company Inc. has been hit with a lawsuit by Wisconsin's Department of Justice.

The action, filed Tuesday in the Dane County Circuit Court, alleges that the Combined Locks, the Wisconsin-based company's fuel storage terminals, emit volatile organic compounds prohibited under Wisconsin's environmental laws.

The office of Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen on Tuesday said the complaint was filed at the request of the Department of Natural Resources.
