Australia Has Lingering Concern Over Telstra Split

Law360, New York (December 9, 2011, 7:07 PM EST) -- Australia's competition regulator said Friday that it still has an outstanding concern about Telstra Corp. Ltd.'s proposed restructuring — part of a sweeping government-backed plan to create a national broadband network — despite new changes submitted by the telecommunications giant.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said Friday it has received Telstra's revised proposal on how it plans to separate its wholesale and retail operations while preserving competition during a 10-year interim period while the national broadband network is being built.
