China Pledges To Open Up Trade At WTO Anniversary Event

Law360, New York (December 12, 2011, 7:34 PM EST) -- At a forum marking the 10th anniversary of China's accession to the World Trade Organization, President Hu Jintao promised Sunday to open up the country's economy while WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy urged the country to tackle "reform challenges."

Hu said at the Beijing event that China will pursue more balanced foreign trade relations and create a more open business environment, according to his prepared remarks.

China will "carry out an even more active opening strategy and expand into new areas for opening up," Hu said....
