Nuke Industry Attacks NRC's 'Chilled' Work Environment

Law360, New York (December 12, 2011, 7:50 PM EST) -- The Nuclear Energy Institute said Monday that it expected Congress to ensure the Nuclear Regulatory Commission is effective, citing its concerns over revelations that NRC commissioners had complained that the agency's chairman had behaved erratically and bullied and intimidated senior staff.

The industry group's response came after U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., released a letter Friday signed by four of five commissioners complaining of “troubling” interactions between Chairman Gregory B. Jaczko and staffers.
