China's Economic Policy, IP Top U.S. Concerns: Report

Law360, New York (December 13, 2011, 1:35 PM EST) -- The Chinese government has intervened too much in the country's economy and failed to protect intellectual property rights as required under its World Trade Organization obligations, according to a U.S. Trade Representative report released Monday about China's WTO compliance.

The report to Congress said that while growth in U.S.-China trade has been "impressive" in the decade since China joined the WTO in December 2001, "the overall picture currently presented by China’s WTO membership remains complex."
