China To Impose Duties On GM, Other US-Made Cars

Law360, New York (December 14, 2011, 1:47 PM EST) -- China will implement anti-dumping and countervailing duties on several vehicles imported from the U.S., including some made by General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group LLC, it said Wednesday, in the latest trade dispute between the two countries.

The U.S.-produced cars are the beneficiaries of subsidies and have been dumped on the Chinese market, causing substantial damage to its domestic industry, according to a statement from China’s Ministry of Commerce.
