Samsung Resists Deposition Of Top Research Exec

Law360, New York (July 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As Rambus Inc. tries to fend off antitrust cross-claims in its memory chip patent suit, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. is looking to quash Rambus’ deposition notices of a chief executive at Samsung’s research unit.

On Thursday, Samsung opposed Rambus’ attempts to gain sworn statements from Dr. Hyung-Kyu Lim, the president and CEO of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT), for its patent case, and sought a protective order from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
