PE Group Pays €1.5B For Vattenfall's Finnish Energy Units

Law360, New York (December 16, 2011, 5:03 PM EST) -- Swedish energy company Vattenfall AB has sold its Finnish electricity and heat distribution businesses to a group of private equity firms, including 3i Group PLC and a Goldman Sachs Group Inc. fund, for €1.54 billion ($2 billion), it said Friday.

The sale comes as Vattenfall has been moving to divest some of its businesses as it refocuses its operations on Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands and reduces its debt.
