FTC Wants Out Of Telemarketing Insurance Suit

Law360, New York (December 16, 2011, 2:04 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission asked Thursday to be dismissed from State Farm Fire and Casualty Co.'s declaratory judgment suit seeking to dodge coverage for an insured who was hit with a $1.7 million judgment for violating the agency's telemarketing regulation.

State Farm filed the action in Arizona federal court in October against the FTC and Meggie Chapman & Associates, seeking a declaration that Chapman’s miscellaneous errors and omissions liability insurance policy with the insurer does not provide coverage for a judgment rendered in a separate action...
