Beacon Hill Joins Forces To Mine Mozambique Coal Field

Law360, New York (December 21, 2011, 4:31 PM EST) -- Coal producer Beacon Hill Resources PLC has entered into a joint venture with Midwest Africa Ltd. to develop a 115-square-mile coal-rich tract in western Mozambique, Beacon Hill said Wednesday, predicting the area could yield 720 million tons of coking and thermal coal.

The move should greatly increase Beacon Hill's coal asset base, which currently stands at 80 million tons from its other Mozambique play called Minas Moatize, London-headquartered Beacon Hill said.
