Chevron, Transocean Prepare For Brazilian Indictments

Law360, New York (December 22, 2011, 3:09 PM EST) -- Chevron Corp. and Transocean Ltd. said Thursday that they would defend their employees against potential indictments by Brazilian authorities in connection with an oil spill off the coast of Rio de Janeiro last month.

Brazilian federal police have recommended that a top prosecutor in the country indict more than a dozen Chevron and Transocean employees over their alleged involvement in oil leaks that occurred at the Frade oil field in November, the companies revealed late Wednesday.
