Harrisburg Fights Appeal Denial Over Ch. 9 Toss

Law360, New York (December 22, 2011, 3:43 PM EST) -- The city council of Harrisburg, Pa., on Thursday continued the fight to resuscitate its derailed bankruptcy case, this time challenging a decision that scuttled earlier appeal efforts over the dismissal of its Chapter 9 petition.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Mary D. France on Dec. 13 nixed the council's appeal notice and denied its motion for more time to file an appeal, finding that it should have lodged the notice within 14 days after her Nov. 23 dismissal order and that it didn't deserve relief from that deadline....
