PHI Group To Build 2,000-MW Coal Plant In Vietnam

Law360, New York (January 4, 2012, 2:26 PM EST) -- California energy company PHI Group Inc. has signed an agreement with a Vietnamese company to build a coal-fired power plant in Vietnam using clean coal technology, PHI said Wednesday.

PHI said it had agreed to construct a 2,000-megawatt plant in the An Giang Province in southwestern Vietnam for the Hoang Ngoc Joint Stock Co. PHI Chairman Henry Fahman said that the firm expects to bring in three institutional investor groups over the next six months to finance the project.
