Carlyle Nabs 48% Stake In Turkish Private School Co.

Law360, New York (January 4, 2012, 12:26 PM EST) -- The Carlyle Group has taken a 48 percent stake in Turkish school operator Bahcesehir Koleji to tap into a growing demand for private education in the country, the investor said Wednesday.

Carlyle will join existing shareholders, the Yucel and Karatas groups, in trying to expand the operator of nursery, primary and secondary schools, the firm said in a statement. Carlyle and Bahcesehir did not disclose the terms of the deal.
