Italian Oil Firms Settle Probe Into Petrol Price-Fixing

Law360, New York (July 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Eight big Italian fuel companies have agreed to open up their networks and take measures to increase market transparency to settle the national competition watchdog's probe into allegations that they were fixing their petrol pump prices.

API Italiana SpA, Eni SpA, Erg Petroli SpA, Esso Italiana Srl, Kuwait Petroleum Italia SpA, Shell Italia SpA, Tamoil SpA and Total Italia SpA have agreed to let distribution groups into their networks, setting prices according to local market recommendations and encouraging more self-service, the Italian Competition Authority said on...
