Summit Partners Notches $3.2B In Fundraising Spree

Law360, New York (January 5, 2012, 5:09 PM EST) -- Private equity firm Summit Partners has had an auspicious start to 2012, closing two funds that raised more than $3.2 billion from investors keen to participate in its deal making, the firm announced Thursday.

Boston-based Summit closed a $2.7 billion growth equity fund as well as a $520 million venture capital fund, giving the firm a massive war chest as it seeks to invest in profitable, expanding companies as well as promising startups, according to the statement.
