Stryker Must Face Suit Over Joint Pain Pumps: Judge

Law360, New York (January 9, 2012, 1:55 PM EST) -- A Utah federal judge on Friday allowed plaintiffs to move forward with a suit accusing Stryker Corp. of making pain pumps that caused a degenerative joint condition, saying they had presented enough proof of their claims to continue toward trial.

U.S. District Judge Dale A. Kimball denied a motion for summary judgment filed by the medical technology giant, sustaining the six plaintiffs' claims for negligence and strict liability and their bid for punitive damages. A jury trial is scheduled to begin Feb. 13.
