FTC Asks Court To Unseal Docs In Graco Merger Suit

Law360, New York (January 10, 2012, 12:33 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission on Monday asked a Washington federal judge to unseal the agency's complaint over industrial fluid manager Graco Inc.'s proposed $650 million purchase of certain Illinois Tool Works Inc. operations, saying public interest outweighs Graco's privacy concerns.

The FTC had asked to keep parts of the complaint confidential during its investigation of the proposed sale, which it said would have anti-competitive effects on the industrial finishing market, according to the motion. But now that the investigation is complete, trade regulators say the public...
