Weil Reps Sanofi On $125M Biotech Venture With VCs

Law360, New York (January 10, 2012, 4:56 PM EST) -- French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi SA has partnered with two U.S.-based venture capital firms in a joint investment in biotechnology startup Warp Drive Bio LLC for as much as $125 million, Sanofi announced Tuesday.

Sanofi said it partnered with Third Rock Ventures LLC and Greylock Partners to launch Warp Drive, a genomic search engine business. Sanofi will provide half of the financing, with the VC firms contributing the other half.
