Judge Severs Charges Against Former Stryker Head

Law360, New York (January 10, 2012, 6:45 PM EST) -- A Massachusetts federal judge on Monday agreed to sever charges against former Stryker Biotech LLC President Mark Philip from the government's criminal case against the company, which is accused of illegally marketing medical devices used in invasive bone surgeries.

Philip claimed it was necessary to sever the claims in order to allow him to use evidence in his defense that fall under the attorney-client privilege between Stryker and its attorneys.
