DuPont Hit By Fallout From Radioactive Waste Suit

Law360, New York (January 10, 2012, 8:51 PM EST) -- Waste management company Philotechnics Ltd. on Tuesday hit DuPont Co. with breach of contract and other third-party claims in a suit it is facing in Tennessee over responsibility for the disposal of allegedly overly radioactive waste brought by environmental services company Perma-Fix.

A November 2006 incident left at least one worker at a Perma-Fix radioactive material processing facility in Richland, Wash., overexposed to americium-241, a radioisotope, according to a third-party complaint Philotechnics filed in Tennessee federal court.
