US Says Ex-Thompson Hine Atty Deserves 16 Months

Law360, New York (January 10, 2012, 10:37 PM EST) -- Prosecutors asked an Ohio federal court Tuesday for a prison sentence of up to 16 months for an ex-Thompson Hine LLP senior antitrust and white collar partner who pled guilty in November to filing false tax returns and overstating his business expenses by more than $250,000.

In a sentencing memorandum, prosecutors said Leslie Jacobs, a former partner at Thompson Hine’s Cleveland office, knowingly inflated law firm business expense deductions on his federal income tax returns from 2004 and 2007, significantly understating his law firm partnership profits....
